You must have a phone no older than 3 years old or they lock you out. I have over 300 popular apps on my phone and this is the ONLY one that doesn't work. My phone is still very nice. I'm not going to update it for one app. It's inexcusable for an app as integral to business workflows as Slack to kill support for past Android versions so quickly.

Team or group communication is quick and cleanly organized when you use slack. The extended feature set is nice, such as reminders, but mostly I use this for the basics. Search has gotten pretty good and notifications have been mostly reliable in recent years, though there are still occasional hiccups when you are both in the app and have a browser tab open, even if one is backgrounded. Best of all, the app is pretty low impact on battery life and system performance.

In a lot of ways this program is useful but in other ways it's hindering and inconsistent. sometimes I can respond to comments, photos, directly but 25% of the time I cannot. sometimes I can click on a photo to zoom in and examine it, 25% I have to open in a Web browser notifications are VERY finicky. I find VERY OFTEN at times my status is changed to inactive and I suspect that has a lot to do with it. sometimes my messages won't go through at all and I have to manually reattempt

slack is overall OK -- about even with most chat services and has similar problem. the app, in particular, however, is quite annoying and it tries to be "helpful" in all the wrong ways, not even preserving the page you were on when you switch away from the app and switch back. then you have to go looking for where you were to continue your conversation. I strongly prefer using the desktop, which has a similar problems, but they are more manageable there.

Terrible app. New bugs keep coming up. Newest one is that probably ~10 times per day chats will stop showing messages. They just show a blank page when I click on them. I'll have to force stop the app and restart to be able to see them. It's insane that these people can't even get a basic messaging app to work properly. Maybe chill out with the stupid integrations for a week and make sure messaging functionality works properly.
