Auto top up holds your money hostage whilst the minimum balance just sits there unused in perpetuity. Of course they say it remains yours and you get it back when you close the account, but if you need to park in places that use paystay you can't close the account. How do you close the account anyway? You have to call them. Whole lot of rigmarole to get back money that was always yours! No option to pay as you go or be charged monthly based on your actual spend like other apps.

There is no way to disable the auto top up feature once a payment method has been added. Should really be a pay as you go system. Or at the very least provide the ability to disable the feature within the app without having to contact the helpdesk.

Recently I was required to use this service for parking for a work meeting, a once off, the carpark cost was supposed to be 40c. I couldn't pay this time without downloading the app and signing up for whatever reason, and was charged a full $10 instead of the carpark amount, and wasted 30mins trying to get this silly app working before I could get the carpark paid for. I have been able to use the carpark previously without the app and it was much easier (and cheaper) without it! Very unimpressed

unlike others I don't find the top up system to be particularly problematic, though I'm concerned by the reviews describing how hard it is to close an account, but I do find the unlisted service fees and the SMS fees (which you have to opt out of each time you park) a bit scammy, would be better if there was a setting to permanently opt out of sms reminders and if the service fees were listed with the rates.

Beware of the cost of notification sms reminders. It show the cost it small print that I can't read without glasses. Often costs aa much as the parking when parking for only a few minutes. you need to find option to turn them off permanently in menu.
