ZArchiver - is a program for archive management (including managing of application backups in archives). You can managment backup of application. It has a simple and functional interface. The app doesn't have permission to access the internet, so cannot transmit any information to other services or persons. ZArchiver lets you: - Create the following archive types: 7z (7zip), zip, bzip2 (bz2), gzip (gz), XZ, lz4, tar, zst (zstd); - Decompress the following archive types: 7z (7zip), zip, rar, rar5, bzip2, gzip, XZ, iso, tar, arj, cab, lzh, lha, lzma, xar, tgz, tbz, Z, deb, rpm, zipx, mtz, chm, dmg, cpio, cramfs, img (fat, ntfs, ubf), wim, ecm, lzip, zst (zstd), egg, alz; - View archive contents: 7z (7zip), zip, rar, rar5, bzip2, gzip, XZ, iso, tar, arj, cab, lzh, lha, lzma, xar, tgz, tbz, Z, deb, rpm, zipx, mtz, chm, dmg, cpio, cramfs, img (fat, ntfs, ubf), wim, ecm, lzip, zst (zstd), egg, alz; - Create and decompress password-protected archives; - Edit archives: add/remove files to/from the archive (zip, 7zip, tar, apk, mtz); - Create and decompress multi-part archives: 7z, rar (decompress only); - Install APK and OBB file from backup (archive); - Partial archive decompression; - Open compressed files; - Open an archive file from mail applications; - Extract split archives: 7z, zip and rar (7z.001, zip.001, part1.rar, z01); Particular properties: - Start with Android 9 for small files (<10MB). A: The contents of some archives may be encrypted and the archive can only be opened with the password (don't use the phone password!). Q: The program is not working correctly? Click on the first of selected files and choose "Compress" from menu. Set desired options and press the OK button. Q: How to extract files? A: Click on the archive name and select suitable options ("Extract Here" or other).

This is a great app; it's been solid and reliable for the couple of years I've used it. I've only used it to archive photo files (unlike other methods, zipping files preserves their modification times). My only complaint is that, if you want to open a folder, you have to tap on it very lightly and quickly... otherwise the app assumes that you want to archive the folder. It would be nice to have a setting that lets you control how long a tap must be before the folder is archived.

I use this on a chromebook and it works like a charm. I can manage android files better than with the default file manager. I'll also occasionally run into an issue with the default file manager where I can't move files to a specific location. However with this app, I can. My only critisizim is that you can't manage Linux/Crostini files with this. Although I guess that kind of makes sense. I mean, I was surprised that I could manage my normal files rather than just my android ones. Five stars!

This is your go-to solution if your ROM doesn't have a file manager or it's way too barebones to be actually usable (pre-Pie AOSP), has none to basic archive management options (TouchWiz), or you just want a functional file management application with archiving capabilities, root access and cloud storage support. It even has a basic image viewer and a text editor if you ever need that, and can manage installation of XAPK bundles, too! Get the pro version if you can, it's well worth it.

I wish I could give 4.9 stars. This is a really good file manager, but there is one tiny bug... Whenever I try to overwrite a file and the old file was bigger than the new file, there will be extra room on the end of the file, but it's basically just corrupted data. It corrupts the file and makes it impossible for most programs to run it. Please either tell me how to fix this if it isn't a bug and fix it If it is. Otherwise, it is an amazing app and my number one choice for a file manager! 🙂👏

Because it allows viewing content of several archive types without extracting them first, I consider it better than 7Zipper, plus it is smaller too. This app is very fast. It is many times faster than file managers with a built-in "zip & unzip" feature, that goes for compression and decompression. Navigating folders is made easy because you can add them as favorites and access them via a pull-down menu. It handles external storage very well, even on later OS versions. If this app featured comprehensive batch file renaming and with root, batch permission and ownership changing, and a dual panes option it would be the world's ultimate Android file management app.
