Drawing from millions of wildlife observations on iNaturalist, Seek shows you lists of commonly recorded insects, birds, plants, amphibians, and more in your area. The more observations you make, the more badges you’ll earn! This is a great app for families who want to spend more time exploring nature together, and for anyone who wants to learn more about the life all around them. KID-SAFE Seek does not require registration and does not collect any user data by default. Some user data will be collected if you choose to sign in with an iNaturalist account, but you must be over 13 or have your parents permission to do so. Seek will ask permission to turn on location services, but your location is obscured to respect your privacy while still allowing species suggestions from your general area. Your precise location is never stored in the app or sent to iNaturalist unless you sign in to your iNaturalist account and submit your observations. Our image recognition technology is based on observations submitted to iNaturalist.org and partner sites, and identified by the iNaturalist community. Seek is part of iNaturalist, a not-for-profit organization. Seek was made by the iNaturalist team with support from the California Academy of Sciences, the National Geographic Society, Our Planet on Netflix, WWF, HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, and Visipedia.

amazing app The camera works so much better than it did before with this app. However and this might be a storage problembit doesn't tell me if it is; rarely even though I take a picture while it's at species it doesn't seem to be able to actually accept it and log it. sometimes I just need to wait longer than normal sometimes it doesn't accept it at all and I need to take a new picture after getting back to species

this app is great and used to work really well, but for the last year or so, across two phones (pixel 6 and 9a), it can't seem to save photos anymore. I can hover to identify, but if I click to take a photo it just gets stuck on a loading screen forever and never changes. I have to manually close the photo mode, and hope the photo saved. it saves about 40% of the time. so I've not been able to record most of the species I identify which really blows. clearing cache doesn't fix it.

Was excited to use this app upon downloading, I like the layout and the whole gimmick of collecting species. Tried to ID a photo of a caterpillar, it said it was a pine sawfly caterpillar, but I googled it and after scrolling for a few minutes, none of the photos I found looked similar to it. Tried IDing more but after that first photo, any image I tried would infinitely buffer even after force stopping. (For clarification, I was selecting from my gallery, not using the built-in camera.)

Woah buddy! I don't give out the ol' 5 star very often, but this app is phenomenal. It's by far one of my favorite apps of all time. It's quick, intuitive, and crazy accurate. Its made it crazy easy to identify(and with cross referencing the web) edible and medicinal plants. It's been a game changer for me. I never would've been able to learn so much so fast without it.

I really enjoy using this app, and I've found that most of the time it works really well. every once in awhile it comes up with a really off-the-wall identification like it told me a wasp was a tick. I think one time it told me a tree was a human being. but most of the time it's really good. sometimes once it makes an identification. it is really really slow to be able to move on to the next step though. would like to see option to not save a wrong ID.
