Only use because of convenience so I don't worry about quarters, only reason I'm okay with 1 star. Time on machines never match the times on the app. The app is supposed to notify you when the load is done, never actually does. The money on the app also doesn't reflect correctly on the machines. I have sent messages regarding these discrepancies but nobody ever responds. I have had money taken out only to find out the machine was broken, notified via app, no rerunds.

There's learning curve to use the app and machines correctly to avoid starting up a washer when a dryer is what was wanted instead. The list jumped back to the top where the washers are when I went to choose a dryer, so I ended up having to scramble up more laundry to avoid losing money since once started, it can't be cancelled and had to use it. Otherwise, it's easy to use and there's helpful laundry tips in the app as well.

Requires either using their app or buying a card instead of simply using cash or a credit card. Also requires being physically in the room to use, so I'm not sure what the perks of the app are. it has a timer but so does my phone, it's famously one of the most basic features available. their timer isn't even accurate half the time anyway. Enshittification at its finest.

it's only saving grace is that it's sometimes faster than quarters. The whole software stack for this system is low quality. Slow, buggy, unresponsive, takes several attempts to detect the machines and add money, which is cumbersome especially when adding 25 cents at a time to increase drying duration. Adding 10 to 14 quarters was often faster than loading the app, closing and loading the app, several times. Then the app asks, every single time. for permission to run in the background. HELL NO!

Updating my review because the app is again throwing errors. Previous versions had crashed or hung at various points during normal usage. Now the app is giving a persistent error, labeled as a "Connection Error" but then described as being caused by a low balance. The balance in my account has more than enough to run the load, and I troubleshot every connection I could (disconnect bluetooth devices, restart phone, restart machine, switch from wifi to cell, etc.). App is too inconsistent for use.
